1940’s Love Stories
The heritage focus for this project was to look at the concept of ‘Love stories which were told in 1900 till now in all Indian sub-continents’. There are over twenty folk lore in love story forms. We concentrated on 14 famous stories. It was done through oral history interviews with people from India, Pakistan, Bangladesh and East Africa, who are all now resident in Rochdale.

My Choice [Dementia Awareness]
The overall aim of this project is to raise awareness Dementia and Mental Health with using story writing approach. This is a unique approach used by Story Telling Network. participants will be shown the idea of remembering childhood events and looking the objects of past and how it helps in Dementia.
The project will deliver 30 weekly sessions to three different groups consisting awareness. Develop presentation about Ageing and Mental Health/Dementia. This presentation will be use to train five workers of five organisations based in Rochdale.
We will organise an event towards the end of the project at local Community Centre as a part of World Mental Health Day during the sessions and at the event we will distribute 200 audio cds and 200 DVDs to participants about Mental Health and Dementia, in English Bangla and Urdu.

The Centre provides health information
